The Simulation Control Panel

The simulation control panel starts, stops and pauses model execution.

The fields for start time, finish time and number of steps are editable. Hence, you may change any of these fields and press the "Enter" key on your keyboard. The other two fields will update so that all are consistent.

The button pad resembling a tape recorder has the usual functions: Start, Pause and Stop, reading from left to right. The progress bar at the right side of the control panel indicates both visually and in text the percentage of the simulation that has completed.

The simulation may be stopped or paused during a run. If the model is paused and you change parameters in the model, resuming execution will incorporate those changes. This practice is not recommended, since there is no way to save and replicate such a dual state model.

If your version of RiverSim has watershed runoff modeling enabled, you can run either the reservoir simulator or the runoff simulator from the same control panel. Simply check the radio button appropriate to the module you wish to run.

The check box at the bottom of the control panel allows the simulation model to get inflow hydrographs from the output of an optional watershed runoff model.
